Who determines the opening bid price and how can I insure that my item doesn’t sell for too low a price?

Auction House Online, Inc. sets the starting price for each auction. The final price is determined by the amount bidders are willing to pay for your item. We want people to get involved in the bidding and generate interest in your items. The more bidders on your item - the higher the likelihood that bidders will compete to “Win” the auction, thus driving up the final price (no one likes to lose!). To insure the final price for your item is not less than you are willing to accept, set a reserve price. You have no obligation to sell the item for less than the reserve price.

When do I pay the commission and fees?

Commissions are deducted from the auction proceeds. Service and research fees are paid in advance. Service fees are credited against commissions when your item sells. For example; you paid a $25 fee when you dropped off the item, it sells for $100; the commission is $35 however, you already paid $25 so we would deduct $10 from the sale price and you would receive $90.

How long does it take to list my items after you get all the information you need?

We are currently running approximately 8 days behind. Keep in mind that we will schedule the start of your auction to take advantage of timing irregularities we research the best day of the week for your auction to end, identical items will bring different prices on different days. Premium service provides expedited handling and listing.

How long does the auction run?

Auctions generally run for 7 days, unless we determine a different time period is more appropriate. eBay allows auctions of 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10 days.

How do I know what my item really sold for?

You are invited to click on the link "Click Here to visit our eBay store - see what we have listed today" link on our web site http://www.auctionhouseonline.com. The link takes you to our store on eBay where you will be able to find your item and follow along to see how many bids have been placed as well as the bid amounts. Additionally, Auction House Online can tell you how many potential bidders are watching your auction. You may visit us at any time and use one of our computers to see the current status of your auction. Make sure you write down the auction number so it will be easy to find after the auction ends.

How and when are items shipped to buyer?

Items are shipped utilizing the most appropriate means available or as specified by the buyer. Items are not shipped until the payment has been received and cleared by the bank.

Who pays for shipping costs and packaging materials?

Auction House Online arranges for all packing and shipping, these costs are included in our commission. Although it is customary for the buyer to pay the actual shipping charge, we must pay for all standard packaging supplies including the box and any specialized supplies.

  What about damaged items?

Auction House Online uses extreme care in packaging your item so that it is received by the buyer safely. All items are insured for full value and claims are handled by us.

When and how do I get paid?

Auction House Online will send you a check approximately 10 days after receiving payment. (This allows for the buyer refund period of 10 days). Checks are mailed on the first Friday after the refund period or after the buyer has acknowledged acceptance of the item, whichever comes first.

What if my item doesn’t sell?

If you purchased basic service you will be notified and asked to pick up the item. With premium service you will have the choice of offering the item to the highest bidder or re-listing the item with a lower reserve price at no charge. Unsold items must be picked up within one week of the auction end unless you selected the "dispose of" option. Items not picked up within ten (10) days after the end of the auction will be disposed of or donated in whatever manner we deem appropriate.

What if the high bidder doesn’t pay for my item?

Payment from buyer is required within 7 -10 days from auction end. If high bidder does not pay within this time frame, item will be offered to the second highest bidder. If there wasn’t a second bidder (or the second bidder declines) then the buyer will be reported and the item will be re-listed at no charge to you upon completion of eBay’s unpaid item process (generally within 1 week). Auction House Online does not charge seller to re-list an item that was not paid for and our commission is based on the actual selling price.

What’s the difference between the Basic , the Basic Plus, and the Premium Services?

Basic service is best for those items that will sell for between $29 and $70. Basic service is limited to 3 pictures and a 7 day auction. There is a $10 listing fee for this service, when the item sells, our regular commission rates apply and the listing fee only is applied to this commission, for example; if your item sold for $100, the commission would be $35, you have already paid $10 so we would deduct $25 from the sale price. These auctions will start at $9.99 and your item will be sold to the highest bidder unless you specified a minimum selling price (the reserve). You may designate a reserve of up to $70 on your item, the cost of the reserve is 10% of the reserve amount and is in addition to the $10 listing fee. You may also set a “Buy it Now” price for an additional $2.00. There is no re-list option or research with basic service, your listing will be composed of your description.

Premium service is best for those items expected to sell for $70 or more. Premium service permits up to 12 pictures and a slide show. We will compose and time a listing based on your notes and our research. There is no limit on the reserve price and the auction period may be 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 days. You will receive priority (front of the line) processing and an email notification of your auction start time. Up to 30min of research to establish the ideal listing formulae, and various promotional options to make your auction stand out, additionally you may set a "Buy it Now" price at no charge. At the conclusion of the auction you may offer your item to the highest bidder if the reserve was not achieved or you may re-list the item at no charge with a reserve equal too or lower than the highest bid placed. If the item does not sell, we will list it for up to 30 days at a fixed price in our eBay store. There is a $25 fee for this service, you may set a reserve price up to $300 at no additional charge. Reserves above $300 will be charged 5% of the amount above $300. When the item sells, our regular commission rates apply and all listing and reserve fees you have paid will be applied to the commission, for example; if your reserve was $500 and the item sold for $500, the commission would be $125, you have already paid $25 + $10 (reserve fee) so we would deduct $90 from the sale price.
